About your Association
The Johnstown Residents’ Association (JRA) work to maintain and enhance the quality of life in our community. The Johnstown Estate is made up of 800 houses and we are very proud of our community. The JRA Committee and volunteers work to represent residents to ensure that the area continues as a beautiful and safe place to live.
The aims of the JRA are:
To protect, maintain and improve conditions and amenities in the area for the benefit of Ordinary Members (members) and their families.
To encourage community and social interaction for the benefit of Ordinary Members and their families.
What does the JRA do for our area?
The Committee are a team of volunteers who give their time to ensure that our area continues to be a safe and pleasant place to live. The Committee meet once per month. The Association is involved in all aspects of community enhancement, including:
Environment: To ensure our parks, footways and area generally is kept neat, litter free and fit for purpose. We organise regular ‘Clean Up’ days where we encourage residents to give an hour of their time to help keep Johnstown looking clean and cared for.
Communication: Keeping residents informed on local issues by means of a quarterly newsletter and the JRA website.
Contact with DLR County Council: The Committee maintains contact with the Council ensuring that issues raised in the areas such as dead trees, dangerous footpaths and broken street lights are adressed in timely manner.
The JRA is governed by it’s constitution, a copy of which is available here.
Your support, by means of annual subscription, provides the funding for the Johnstown Residents Association to operate.
